How did you two meet?

I was a barmaid at the club Kieran played cricket at. I must have wowed him with my pint-pouring skills.

What about the proposal, how did it go?

For my birthday Kieran got us tickets to a candle lit orchestral concert where they played Coldplay (my favourite band) in York, followed by a night away in Scarborough. Little did I know this would be the start of my proposal weekend. Scarborough holds a special place in my heart after going there with my family every weekend growing up.  The next morning Kieran woke me for a sunrise walk along the beach. Luckily the weather played ball. I had no idea what was about to happen but as we watched the sun rise Kieran got down on one knee. His thoughtfulness to incorporate two things that mean so much to me speaks volumes of the person he is. I also thought I'd make it a full circle by choosing the strings version of 'Fix You' we heard in York as my aisle song.

Tell us about the venue?

We got married at Manor House in Lindley in April 2025. Ironically, Lindley is my new last name. As soon as we visited, I knew it was where I wanted to get married. The team at Manor House helped up organise and plan our wedding in just 5 months. The venue itself has a feeling like no other, combing the classical luxury 'manor house' features, with a modern yet charming décor. It has been designed with weddings in mind and has so many tasteful features such as the dedicated getting ready space for the bridal party, or the stunning stain-glassed windows and huge barn doors at the end of the aisle. We wanted an intimate wedding with our closest family and friend and was able to book all 12 rooms the night before and the night of the wedding to fully immerse ourselves in the wedding weekend.

Tell us about your dress!?

It was everything, and more. I knew I wanted a timeless and simple dress. I originally thought I would opt for something quite form fitting and tried on some amazing dresses, however when I tried on the wildcard option 'Greer by Serene' in the 'pattern ivory' suggested by Kim and Holly, I instantly fell in love. It was simple but made a statement. As soon as I put it on, it was the first time I felt like a bride. Thankfully, both Kim and Holly worked miracles to get my dress ordered and altered in just 5 months.

What was the favourite part of your day?

It is so hard for me to pick my favourite part of the day, however, I would probably have to choose the private vows. We decided to opt to do our vows just us two straight after the ceremony. This allowed us to spend some time just the two of us, in our own little bubble, talking from the heart and it was magical.

Any changes?

In terms of the day itself, I wouldn't change a thing. Truly the best day of my life. That being said, everybody talks about the burgers in the evening, which I didn't try, so I maybe would've had one of them if I could go back.

Any tips for brides to be?

  • I'd say to think about what you want from the day and be strict in sticking to it. We knew we wanted to be in our bubble together, and so many people had warned us of getting pulled from pillar to post, so we decided to be strict on spending every moment we could together and we are so pleased we did as it has left us with memories forever. From there, just enjoy it. The day goes so fast. Don't stress about the finer details as everything will fall into place.

  • If you love dancing, I would highly recommend live music. This got everyone up dancing and really set the tone for the evening celebrations.

  • We also created a digital photo album which the guests fully bought into. This gave so many different angles of the day and is amazing to look back on.
