How did you two meet?
We met when we were younger at athletics! Through our time together we’ve lived on opposite sides of the country for three years whilst I was at University, survived the COVID pandemic living separately too! The wedding really was a big celebration of us finally having all of our family together in one place!
What about the proposal, how did it go?
The proposal was in Mexico on a beautiful holiday together. Josh has managed to sneak the ring in his hand luggage and on our first full night there we were walking along the beach when he popped the question. I was speechless for the rest of the night (that doesn’t happen a lot)
What was your wedding style/inspo?
We’d describe ourselves as the least creative people so style/inspo wasn’t something we’d thought much about. We wanted everything to be neutral with lots of greenery and white flowers which our florist nailed perfectly!
We knew we wanted the wedding to feel rustic and picked the tipis and pizza company to match this vibe.
Tell us about your dress!
Dresses…. I had no clue! Elizabeth Kate was the first and only dress shop I visited with my mum. I’d looked on Pinterest and Instagram and thought I’d want something completely different to what I picked. Kim listened to every single comment I made about each dress I tried and eventually we found ‘the one’.
I also knew I didn’t want to have the same as anyone else so we made some tweaks to the dress so it was completely unique. I love the Elysee Etoile Evangeline wedding dress so much!
The whole experience of picking my dress to having alternations was perfect, Kim really did make me feel like I looked beautiful (even if I did collapse at one appointment and needed feeling jelly tots!)
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite part. From getting ready with the girls in the morning to eating pizza at 1am the next day, everything was as we dreamt.
Any changes? (Things you wish you’d done or wish you hadn’t!)
The day itself was everything we could have wished for and more. We wouldn’t change a single thing.
Any tips for brides to be?
Take it all in, it goes by so quickly on the day.
Stress less, the only thing that matters is that you’re marrying your best friend.
