Our Love Story: From Sheffield to the Aisle
We met on Tinder, we spoke for a week before we met on Saturday 12th April 2014 in Sheffield. We only planned a couple of drinks as no one wants to sit eating with someone they don’t like, that said we ended up in an Italian restaurant, the following weekend was bank holiday and we spent the entire weekend together and here we are now
The Proposal: Anniversary in Palma
We went to Palma for our 10year anniversary, we got ready for a nice meal on the 12th April and sat in the courtyard with fairy lights when he asked if I wanted to get engaged. Never saw it coming, didn’t think it would ever happen
Our Wedding Day at The Milner Hotel, York
12yrs to the date of our first date, Sunday 12th April 2026.
Our special place we always visit is York, we chose The Milner Hotel for our special day, it’s such a beautiful building with a gorgeous interior we immediately fell in love. We wanted a classic, romantic, elegant feel with white roses and lit candles. It also had to be somewhere who welcomed our greyhound Badger with open arms.
Our favourite moment…. For us both it was when I walked down the aisle and saw Paul standing there it was truly magical. The second favourite part for me was our first dance which was to ‘Be My Baby’ which also had a special meaning to us. Paul’s second favourite part was his dinner, the food was incredible

From the minute Elizabeth Kate opened, I knew if I ever got married that’s where I was going dress shopping. Jess Dress wasn’t my first love on paper but was one of my favourites, she was the first dress pulled by Kim and Holly and I loved her, every time I tried her I loved her more, she matched the vision in my head, elegant and classic. I wore her during the day with the over skirt for the dramatic train and removed this for the evening for a different look, a look I loved just as much. For me the dress said it all so I kept my accessories simple, drop pearl earrings, no necklace and wore pearls in my low bun.
I would recommend Elizabeth Kate to anyone who was getting married, nothing was too much for Kim and Holly they’re both such lovely ladies… thank you both
Advice for Future Brides
Have a signature scent, we bought candles which smelt like the vision of our wedding it matched perfectly, now afterwards we light them at home and it takes us straight back to the day. Same for perfume buy a new scent you’ve never used so every time you wear it afterwards you think of your special day
Final Thought
The day goes so quickly, you will forget certain photos, but it doesn’t matter just enjoy your day…. It’s your day
