Some love stories just feel meant to be from the very beginning.
Maisie and Tom met during lockdown after matching on Tinder, with long drives to see each other becoming some of their favourite memories. Fast forward a few years, a surprise proposal in Mallorca and a beautiful wedding at Howsham Hall, and those early instincts proved completely right.
Inspired by timeless romance and a touch of Bridgerton elegance, their June wedding was filled with soft buttermilk yellows, baby blues, candlelight and the people they love most. Even better? Maisie found her dream dress in the place she least expected, the boutique window she'd almost talked herself out of trying.
From the soft colour palette to the candlelit details and romantic setting, Maisie and Tom's Howsham Hall wedding is full of inspiration for brides planning a celebration that feels timeless without being too traditional.

From a Lockdown Tinder Match to Forever
How did you and your partner meet?
We actually met on Tinder during lockdown! Tom was based at his Army camp at the time, and I’d drive over just to spend a few hours with him before driving back home again. Looking back, it sounds a bit mad, but I’d do it all again! From the day I met him, I just knew. I remember thinking, “I’m going to marry this man one day.” Those little trips are some of my favourite memories, and the rest is history.
A Surprise Proposal in Mallorca
Tell us about the proposal!
Tom proposed while we were on holiday in Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca. I had absolutely no idea it was coming, so I was completely shocked! It was just the two of us in the most beautiful setting, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Such a special moment that we’ll always remember.
A Timeless Wedding at Howsham Hall
When and where did you get married?
We got married on 27th June 2026 at the beautiful Howsham Hall in North Yorkshire.
What was your wedding vibe/theme?
We wanted everything to feel elegant, timeless and romantic, with a little bit of Bridgerton inspiration. Our colours were buttermilk yellow and baby blue, with loads of candles and beautiful flowers. It was the perfect mix of classic and fun, which was exactly what we’d hoped for.
What was your wedding budget?
Honestly… if you’d asked me, I’d probably have said we didn’t have a budget! We just booked everything as early as we could and spread the cost over time. It made such a difference and meant we could have everything we’d hoped for without trying to pay for it all at once.
The Moment They'll Never Forget
What was your favourite moment of the day?
Definitely walking down the aisle to Tom. Seeing him waiting for me, with our little boy Hugo being such a big part of the day, made it so emotional. Having all the people we love in one place, celebrating with us, was so special. It really was the best day of our lives.
Of course, before the flowers, candles and beautiful North Yorkshire setting came one very important decision: finding the dress. And Maisie's story is a brilliant reminder that sometimes the dress you fall in love with isn't the one you thought you'd be looking for........
Finding Elizabeth Kate Bridal
What made you choose Elizabeth Kate Bridal? As soon as we got engaged, I found Elizabeth Kate Bridal on Instagram and instantly fell in love with them. I knew I had to book an appointment! From the minute I walked in, Kim and Holly made me feel so welcome, and the whole experience was just amazing.
Sometimes you just have to trust your first reaction. Maisie had already spotted her dream dress before she'd even stepped through the door, she just wasn't convinced it was actually the dress for her.
The Dress in the Window
Tell us about your dress. What did you fall in love with?
On the way to my appointment with my mum, sister-in-law and auntie, we drove past the window and I remember saying, “Wow, that dress is perfect!” I told Kim and Holly when I got there that I loved the dress in the window, but I didn’t think it was me because I’d imagined myself in something completely different. They just smiled and said, “Let’s try it on first!” As soon as I put Theo (Serene by Madi Lane) on, I knew. I never wanted to take it off and I was so excited to wear it again on my wedding day. It turned out to be everything I didn’t know I wanted.
Knowing She'd Found "The One"
How did you feel when you found “the one”?
I honestly never wanted to take it off! As soon as I put it on, I knew it was my dress. I could picture myself walking down the aisle to Tom, and seeing everyone’s reactions made it even more special. From that moment, I was soooo excited for the wedding day just so I could wear it again!
Two Bridal Looks, One Dream Dress
Did you customise your dress or style it in a unique way?
I kept my dress exactly the same because I loved it too much to change it, but I added a veil, lace sleeves and a choker, all from Elizabeth Kate Bridal. It meant I could switch my look up throughout the day without actually changing my dress, which was something I never wanted to do. It honestly felt like I got two bridal looks, while still wearing my dream dress from start to finish.
Maisie's Advice for Future Brides
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to brides currently dress shopping?
Go in with an open mind! I was so sure I knew what I wanted, but if Kim and Holly hadn’t encouraged me to try on the dress from the window, I probably would’ve walked straight past my dream dress.
What would you say to someone considering visiting Elizabeth Kate Bridal?
Do it! Honestly, I couldn’t recommend them enough. Everyone is so lovely, they make you feel completely at ease, and they genuinely care about helping you find your dress. I loved every second of the experience.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to brides about planning or the wedding day?
Don’t stress over the little things because, honestly, on the day none of it matters. Everything comes together, and all you’ll be thinking about is marrying your best friend. Also, make sure you take five minutes together during the day to step away and take it all in because it goes so, so fast.
Anything else you’d love to share about your experience?
Everyone says your wedding day flies by, and they’re right! Enjoy every part of being engaged and don’t wish it away because before you know it, it’s over. We had the best day ever, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it so special.
