Meet Megan
Some love stories start with a first date. Megan and Charlie's started much earlier.
They met at school when they were just 13, became friends and eventually got together at 17. More than ten years later, they found themselves getting married in the sunshine at Elixir Ibiza.
But before the Ibiza celebrations came the dress search, and Megan already knew one thing.
After discovering Elizabeth Kate Bridal through Instagram while searching for a boutique stocking the designer formerly known as Made with Love, Megan came through our doors hoping to find her perfect gown.
Her dress wasn't actually in our boutique when she first visited.
Luckily, she came back for one of our MWL Trunk Shows.
And that's where she found MWL Atlas.

Your Love Story
How did you and your partner meet?
We met each other at school (aged 13) and we were friends until age 17. Now we have been together for over 10 years.
There is something particularly lovely about a relationship that has grown up alongside you. From school friends at 13 to more than a decade together, Megan and Charlie already had plenty of history before their wedding day.
Tell us about the proposal!
It was at Stella island in Crete which is a beautiful hotel. I'd convinced myself it would happen on the first night of our holiday and when I realised it wasn't, I asked him whether he actually wanted to marry me 😂 little did I know he'd arranged for a beautiful proposal the following night at sunset and I was completely surprised. They played our favourite song and it was perfect. That pretty much describes our relationship in one story.
We have to admit, asking Charlie whether he actually wanted to marry her because the proposal hadn't happened yet makes the eventual surprise even better!
Thankfully, Charlie had something rather more romantic planned.
A sunset proposal in Crete, their favourite song playing and Megan completely unaware that this was the moment, it sounds like the perfect next chapter in their story.
The Wedding Day
When and where did you get married?
Elixir in Ibiza - they are outstanding.
For a couple whose wedding vibe was simply “Ibiza, sun soaked and party vibes,” Elixir sounds like a pretty perfect choice.
The Ibiza setting gave Megan and Charlie the backdrop for a wedding that was all about sunshine, celebration and having an amazing time together.
What was your wedding vibe/theme?
Ibiza, sun soaked and party vibes.
Honestly, we don't think it needs any more explanation than that.
What was the wedding budget - THIS IS OPTIONAL!
We didn't have one but tried to be reasonable near the end!!
A very relatable approach to wedding planning!
What was your favourite moment of the day?
Charlie's personalised vows to me - there wasn't a dry eye in the venue (including his).
We love that this was Megan's standout moment.
Among all the excitement, sunshine and celebrations, it was Charlie's words to her that became the memory she treasured most.
Finding Her Wedding Dress at Elizabeth Kate Bridal
What made you choose Elizabeth Kate Bridal?
I searched for a long time on instagram and came across your shop as you were one of the few shops that sold the Made with Love dresses and I was desperate to try those on. When I arrived, I realised how lovely/relaxing the shop was to be in and how stunning the dresses were
Megan's journey started with a very specific mission: she wanted to try Made with Love dresses.
(Today, the designer is known as MWL, following its rebrand, but Megan's original words naturally remain exactly as she gave them to us.)
And while the designer initially brought her through our doors, it was the relaxed feel of the boutique and the experience itself that made her appointment memorable.
Tell us about your dress, what did you fall in love with?
The first thing I noticed on this dress was the 3d flowers and I wanted something slightly different to what was currently fashionable. When I first visited, you didn't have the dress in store but I was lucky enough to come back for a Made with Love Trunk Show.
This is exactly why we love our designer trunk shows.
Megan had already found the designer she wanted to try, but the particular gown she was drawn to wasn't part of our collection when she first visited.
Rather than giving up on the dress, she had the opportunity to come back for an MWL Trunk Show, and finally try Atlas on.
Those three-dimensional floral details immediately caught her eye, giving her something a little different from the styles she had been seeing everywhere else.
Atlas by MWL is a beautiful example of the modern, fashion-forward bridal style the designer is known for.
The detail that immediately caught Megan's attention was the 3D embroidered petal lace, creating texture and dimension across the gown and giving it that something-different quality she was looking for.
Atlas features a bold square neckline, a beautifully fitted silhouette and delicate floral lace that brings a romantic softness to the overall look. The design is finished with a dramatic train that gives the gown plenty of impact, particularly perfect for a bride walking into an Ibiza celebration.
It's the combination that makes Atlas so special: modern enough to feel current, romantic enough to feel unmistakably bridal, and detailed enough to create a statement without needing lots of additional styling.
Megan also had the dress shortened, making it work perfectly for her own wedding and the way she wanted to wear it.

The Moment She Found The One
How did you feel when you found "the one"?
I felt like 'a bride' - hard to describe what that feeling is but I knew it was the one I wanted to marry Charlie in.
Sometimes there really isn't a better description.
You can analyse necklines, silhouettes, fabrics and trends all day, but ultimately, finding your dress can come down to a feeling.
For Megan, Atlas made her feel like a bride.
And she knew it was the dress she wanted to marry Charlie in.
Did you customise your dress or style it in a unique way?
Just shorter 😂

Megan's Advice for Brides Wedding Dress Shopping
What's one piece of advice you'd give to brides currently dress shopping?
Don't rush the process and start early if you can. It's something that you should do with family and friends as a memory you'll remember. I had my Mum, Nana and Maid of Honour and that was one of the best decisions I made as I won't forget the experience.

What would you say to someone considering visiting us?
100%. You are both very welcoming and I immediately felt comfortable. It's quite an intimate thing to try on a wedding dress and it can also feel daunting but I had such an amazing experience at Elizabeth Kate. We had lots of fittings to make sure it was perfect and nothing was too much trouble.
This means a lot to us.
Trying on wedding dresses can feel incredibly personal, especially when you're standing in front of a mirror in something you've never worn before.
That's why we want our brides to feel comfortable from the moment they walk through the door, with no pressure, no expectation that they need to know exactly what they're looking for, and plenty of time to enjoy the experience.
And of course, the journey doesn't end when you say yes.
Megan had multiple fittings with us so that Atlas could be altered and prepared to fit her perfectly for her wedding day.
Advice for Future Brides
What's one piece of advice you'd give to brides about the planning/day/anything you think!?
Plan your wedding for you and your partner, not for anyone else's preferences. It's your day and you don't want to look back with regrets.
We think this is one of the best pieces of wedding advice there is.
There will be opinions from family, friends, Pinterest, Instagram and probably a few people who weren't even asked.
But ultimately, your wedding is about the two of you.
Choose the things that make you happy. Have the wedding that feels like you. And don't be afraid to politely ignore everything else.

We recommend starting your wedding dress search around 12–18 months before your wedding where possible. This gives you plenty of time to explore different designers, find your dress, allow for production and complete your alterations without feeling rushed.
How early should I order my wedding dress?
Most designer gowns take several months to arrive after ordering, so ordering early gives you the most flexibility. At Elizabeth Kate Bridal, most gowns take around 6–10 months, although times vary by designer.
Should I bring my family and friends wedding dress shopping?
Absolutely, if that's what will make the experience special for you. We recommend bringing a small group of people whose opinions you genuinely trust. Megan brought her Mum, Nana and Maid of Honour and says it was one of the best decisions she made.
How many people should I bring to my wedding dress appointment?
We generally recommend keeping your group fairly small. Too many opinions can sometimes make it harder to listen to your own instincts. A couple of people who know you well can be much more helpful than a large group.
How do I know when I've found my wedding dress?
There isn't one universal "you'll know" moment. Some brides cry, some feel emotional, some feel excited and others simply don't want to take the dress off. For Megan, she described it as feeling like "a bride" and immediately knowing it was the dress she wanted to marry Charlie in.
Should I try on wedding dresses that are different from what I originally imagined?
Definitely. While it's useful to have an idea of what you like, keeping an open mind can lead you to something you never expected to love. Your bridal stylist can help you explore different silhouettes, necklines, fabrics and details.

Our designer wedding dresses currently range from £1,399 to £3,000, depending on the designer and gown. Our collection includes MWL, Eva Lendel, Serene by Madi Lane, Rebecca Ingram, Enzoani Love and Elysee.

Our current MWL collection ranges from approximately £2,360–£3,000. MWL gowns are made to order and are known for modern silhouettes, premium fabrics and distinctive details including 3D lace.
Is MWL the same as Made With Love?
Yes. MWL is the rebrand of Made With Love. The designer formerly known as Made With Love is now known as MWL. Brides may still see the former name when searching online or looking at older wedding dress content.
