Some wedding stories begin with a chance meeting on a night out or through mutual friends. This one began with a message asking to borrow some CCTV footage.
When there was some suspicious activity around the cars outside her home, our beautiful bride Georgia messaged Andreas, who happened to live just four doors away, to see if he could help. Neither of them could have imagined that one simple message would be the beginning of a love story that would eventually lead them to the aisle.
On 27th June, they celebrated their wedding at the stunning Hirst Priory, surrounded by family and friends, with a beautiful colour palette of soft yellows and crisp whites creating a timeless summer celebration.
When it came to finding her wedding dress, Georgia wanted something that felt elegant, comfortable and, most importantly, like herself. She found exactly that in Colby by Rebecca Ingram, a gown that almost didn't make it out of the "no to maybe" pile.
Her bridal look became even more personal with a bespoke alteration completed by our in-house alterations team, embroidering a handwritten message from her late mum into the dress, close to her heart, so she could carry a little piece of her with her throughout the day.

How did you and your partner meet?
Me and Andreas actually met as he lived 4 doors away from me and my dad and I messaged him asking for CCTV as we had some activity around our cars on a night time.
Tell us about the proposal!
The proposal was very unexpected but beautiful!!
We were on holiday in Barbados and he proposed on the balcony to the band who was playing below us.
The song that was playing whilst he was on one knee was "I Can See Clearly Now the Rain Has Gone."
Ideally Andreas said he wanted to do it on the beach but couldn't think of a way to go to the room to get the ring and got himself in a little tiff with it all so did it on the balcony and to be honest it was the best!
A beautiful summer wedding at Hirst Priory
When and where did you get married?
We got married at Hirst Priory on the 27th of June.
We didn't really have a theme or vibe but after the ceremony we had Ian Smith the magician and he was exceptional.
We also had some of Emma Lane's garden games on the lawn to keep the guests occupied whilst we went off and had pictures taken.
The simplest ideas that create the best atmosphere, and with beautiful summer weather, relaxed garden games and guests enjoying the grounds of Hirst Priory, the whole day felt effortlessly personal.
What was your favourite moment of the day?
My favourite moment of the day was walking down the aisle to my 'to be' husband and seeing his face completely stunned.
Finding her Rebecca Ingram wedding dress at Elizabeth Kate Bridal
Finding your wedding dress isn't always about falling in love with the very first gown you try on.
Sometimes it's about finding the dress that feels the most like you.
For our bride, shopping for a wedding dress felt a little daunting.
She describes herself as "definitely not a girly girl", so she wanted somewhere she could feel completely comfortable, listened to and never pressured.
What made you choose Elizabeth Kate Bridal?
I chose Elizabeth Kate as I had heard very good reviews from other people and if you know me you know that I'm definitely not a 'girly girl' as people say and finding dresses sometimes proves quite difficult.
I felt very assured the moment I walked in Elizabeth Kate.
There was no pressure on anything.
And they found dresses to what I had described what I wanted.
Falling in love with Colby by Rebecca Ingram
Sometimes "the one" isn't the dress you expect.
Sometimes it's the dress someone gently encourages you to try one more time.
Colby is an off-the-shoulder, fit-and-flare gown in crepe and lace, designed to skim and flatter the figure without ever feeling fussy. Its clean, structured shape gave Georgia exactly the elegant-but-comfortable feel she was after, while the illusion scoop back and delicate lace detail through the train added just enough romance without tipping into "too girly" for a bride who describes herself as anything but.
A row of buttons trails all the way down the back, a detail Georgia loved, finishing the gown with the kind of understated, timeless polish that made it feel less like a "wedding dress" and more like her dress.
Tell us about your dress, what did you fall in love with?
My dress was beautiful, elegant and very very comfortable.
With the added details to the train and the buttons going all the way down the back.
I'll be honest it was a dress that was in the no to maybe pile.
But my auntie said I think you should try it on with the veil and flowers.
And from that point I knew straight away it was the one.
It was me as a bride not me jumping into a dress trying to be a bride.
Carrying her mum with her
There are some alterations that change how a dress fits.
And there are others that change what it means.
For our beautiful bride, one of the most special parts of her wedding dress wasn't something guests would immediately notice.
It was something deeply personal.
How did you personalise your dress?
I customised my dress by adding my something blue.
Which was my late mums handwriting of "I love you loads x"
They did an amazing job of making it so special and putting in my left boob cup so it was close to my heart.
Where my mum always is.

Advise to current brides looking is if you're unsure of a dress try it on again but have a veil and flowers and when you know you know.
Honestly... we couldn't agree more.
All it takes is seeing everything come together before that little voice in your head says...
"This is my dress."

Anyone considering of visiting you guys I would 100% say get yourselves there as I couldn't recommend you more.
