Some love stories begin with a swipe, others with a chance meeting, but for Kim, it all started on a spontaneous girls’ holiday to Magaluf at just 18 years old. What began as a dinner with strangers quickly turned into endless laughter, a walk on the beach, and later, a Facebook reconnection that blossomed into forever. Fast-forward eleven years, a home, a family, and a beautiful proposal at the couple’s favourite getaway, and this love story reached its fairytale moment with a stunning all-white wedding at Hodsock Priory. How did you meet?

Myself and my best friend booked a last minute girls holiday to magaluf when we had both turned 18. We flew out and one day we was just sat round the pool when my friend Tammy was speaking to Sam's friend. Without me knowing she came back and was like "we're going out for dinner with them let's go get ready" I wasn't happy about going out for dinner with some random strangers but that's Tammy all over! We got changed, went out for dinner and I honestly have never laughed so much in my life! My laughs never been the same since!🤣 we ended the night with a walk on the beach and then went our separate ways. Sam flew back home the next day so I never saw him again until he suddenly added me on Facebook and messaged me. At the time I never thought anything of it, he lived so far away from me in Birmingham. We continued to speak, met up in Birmingham and the rest is history. Sam ended up moving down to Nottingham to be with me, we bought our first house together and started a family together and here we are 11 years later!🤣

Tell us about your proposal:

We always like to go to Hoar Cross Hall. It was our first little getaway together and we always go there every year. It's so special to us. Sam booked us a little getaway at Hoar Cross Hall for my birthday. He was acting very weird the first day we got there. Very nervous, wanted to go for a walk around the grounds... he never wants to go for a walk!🤣 I wanted to nap 🤣 so I napped then before we went down for dinner he locked me out the room (collecting the ring I know now)🤣 all the time we was down stairs he was acting like it was our first date, so many opportunities! We had dinner, went back up to the room, I asked him to undo my shoe and whilst he got down he went on one knee and got the ring out to ask me!🤣🤣

Very white wedding! 🥰

Tell us about the dress!

I knew from the moment I saw the Enzoani Love Blanca wedding dress at the cat walk night at Hodsock Priory. I said to my friends that's the dress! I took a photo went and saw some others at other shops which were more local. None of them was giving me that feeling! Then I booked an appointment with Elizabeth Kate even though it's around an hour and 20 drive for me. I fell it love with it! Everything I wanted, the sparkle on top with the elegant crepe. I had extra buttons added to the back to make it exactly everything I wanted. I finished it with the crystal veil!😍

Any special memory from your EK appointment you'd love to share?

There's so many! The girls was so lovely, from re arranging the date because I found out I was pregnant to making me feel so comfortable at every appointment! 

What was your favourite moment on the wedding day?

Every single second was unreal, but probably walking down the aisle to see Sam at the end waiting for me breaking down in tears.

What advice would you give to brides planning now?

Don't stress too much, enjoy every single second of the planning and take it all in your little wedding bubble after!🥰
