Our story began at secondary school and developed through our teenage years up until this day. Guess we are the childhood sweethearts.

Steven whisked me away to the island of Ios for my 30th birthday. Without a murmur to any of our family or friends, this is where he proposed. We both fell in love with Ios, the laid-back lifestyle, whitewashed buildings, sandy beaches, and the most sublime cocktails. We knew that during this trip, this is where we would hold our wedding, and we couldn't wait to share our love for Ios with our friends and family.

The stunning backdrop of the Cycladic Island and Aegean Sea set the mood perfectly. We wanted everything to be timeless and classic. We then moved on to the most stunning sunset dining bar, Ios Club, for our drinks and dinner reception.

Tell Us About the Dress! How Did You Know It Was 'The One'?

When I arrived at my appointment at Elizabeth Kate, I felt completely overwhelmed. I was instantly made to feel at ease by Kim and Holly. They understood my style when I said that I wanted a look that I could change up. They pointed me in the direction of the Eva Lendel gowns.

As soon as I tried on Alegra, I knew it was the one! It hit the nail on the head for the old money and classic aesthetic that I was aiming for. I am a fan of a vintage sleeve but didn't think I was bold enough to make the decision on something a little bit different. I wanted to elevate the dress with a second look for the evening, and Holly's suggestion of the separate sleeve was absolutely perfect. I have never felt so elegant and chic before, and I cannot thank Holly and Kim enough for helping me choose my dress.

What Was Your Favourite Moment on the Wedding Day?

My favourite moment of our day has to be during our ceremony. We wrote our own vows to each other. They were filled with laughter, endearing promises, and plans for our future. We also involved our children during the ceremony, which was equally as important and special to them both.

What Advice Would You Give to Brides Planning Now?

My advice to any future bride is to not lose yourself too much in the planning. Talk things through together and delegate tasks to each other. Don't sweat over the small stuff. At the end of the day, it is about you and your future husband or wife and your commitment to one another.

Anything Else You'd Love Future EK Brides to Know?

Any future EK brides should go into their appointments with a relaxed and open mind. Kim and Holly know their stuff and will help guide you in the right direction. Their passion for wedding gowns is inspiring. I'd do anything to be able to play dress-up again and again.
