How did you two meet?

We met at work in 1998 we've both worked for the same company ever since.  We have though only been a couple since 2007, we were friends for a really long time before we started a relationship.  If you can marry your best friend then you are pretty lucky, to marry your best friend of nearly 30 years who also happens to be the parent to your child even better!

What about the proposal, how did it go?

Anthony proposed on Christmas Day 2015 it was very emotional and we are still to this day not entirely sure he actually asked the question.  It was such a surprise, he'd been trying to pluck up the courage to do it for weeks before. It was all a bit overwhelming when it happened.  We were unwrapping presents and it was hidden in the final "gift" under the tree.

Tell us about your venue.

We chose Hirst Priory because we wanted a single event at a single venue. It was absolutely perfect the outside space and woodland area were ideal for a chilled garden party theme that we wanted for the first part of the day.  The main house was ideal for a louder celebration in the evening and while we didn't have a "day" and "night" the event built over the day ending with a Band in the house and Casino in the cellar vaults and starting with a romantic wedding in the woods.

What was your wedding style/inspo?

Our wedding style was a relaxed party, come as you are.  We wanted all of our family and friends to join us and didn't want any awkwardness for anyone. So we abandoned table plans and sit down meals, we started mid-afternoon and carried on till midnight. No themes for clothing or anyone feeling left out.  The groom and groomsmen opted for Jeans and Waistcoats and the Bride and Bridesmaids soft fabrics.  The colours for the venue were muted and simple and all the arrangements and bouquets handmade by the bride and the venue was dressed by the Bridal party.  We even kicked the weekend off with an intimate reception dinner to do all the thankyou's so the speeches on the day didn't drag on.

Tell us about your dress!

Having been married before I had a fairly firm idea of what I didn't want but wasn't entirely sure I knew what I did want.  I had a few things pinned but Elizabeth Kate was only the second place I visited so I was a little hesitant about whether I would find the one.  I loved how they listened to my ideas, my style preferences and who I thought was stylish.  There were a few wedding dresses I tried on and thought "that's nice" but when I tried on my dress, I was in love... and it was fate she was called "Stephanie" so it was meant to be!

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Everything it was exactly what we wanted... the ceremony although the shortest part was probably my favourite it was perfect!

Any changes? (Things you wish you'd done or wish you hadn't!)

Not sticking together! We kept being separated by talking to people and catching up so I'm not sure we spent much of our wedding day together just us... I wish we had taken sometime to have even half an hour alone with our little girl and take in that we had finally done it.

Any tips for brides to be?

It's your day no one else's. Don't be pressured in to plans to suit "everyone" or inviting people you barely know or you don't consider important. Do it your way!
