Hi! Firstly, congratulations on your engagement!! Let me introduce myself, I'm Robyn, a sausage dog, leopard print and coffee loving, multi award winning hairstylist based in Lincoln. I live with my husband of 10 years, 2 sausage dogs Mavis and Gilbert and cat Arya (yes we are a crazy animal household!)
I have been a hairstylist my entire working life (besides a 2 weeks stint as a waitress which I hated, but we won't talk about that!) so nearly 20 years. I made the move to specialise in bridal when I went freelance in 2015. I did my first wedding in 2010 and got the bug from there after realising how super special it was to be a part of one of the biggest days of someone's life and sharing such an intimate time with someone. Wedding mornings are a huge part of the day and really set the tone for the day but it's also the part of the day that only a select few people get to witness, so I am so honoured that I get to be one of those select few for so many people. Helping someone to look and feel amazing on their big day is just the most incredible feeling and I absolutely love it! I am so lucky I get to call this my job.
In 2023 I won Wedding Hairstylist of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards after winning my region for 2 years in a row. It was such an incredible honour and one of the proudest moments of my career. To be recognised at such a high level by an awards that is voted for by the brides and couples and judged by a panel of experts, really was a pinch me moment and I display my trophy with pride!
I specialise in classic modern wedding hairstyling and absolutely love the clean, polished looks that we have been moving into over the last year. Whether that be a smooth clean low bun, a classic Hollywood wave, a high wavey ponytail, or that polished, clean textured updo, I'm your gal! I love seeing where hair trends go for hair but also seeing how the classic staple styles develop to fit the trends. For example, the Hollywood wave is really having it's moment now, but this year we will definitely see them becoming softer and less structured. For buns and updos, they are becoming more simplistic and getting higher (thanks Kim K and Pammy!) and any texture is polished and smooth. I can't wait to see what my brides and their parties chose for their hair this year!
I am based just outside of Lincoln and do all my trials at my newly refurbished home studio which is the perfect relaxing, creative space to have your wedding hair preview and we can get excited chatting about all your wedding plans! And you can have a little love from my 2 sausage dogs if you'd like, what's not to love!? I will always work closely with you to make sure you get your dream wedding hair to complete your wedding day look. I can give advice on styles, hair extensions and haircare to ensure you are the best version of you for your big day. At your trial, we will chat about all your plans for the morning as well as your party members hair and desired styles and I will create a time schedule for the morning so everyone has their own time slot for hair. This way everyone has the amount of time needed to make sure they have amazing hair and will work with your makeup artist to ensure there are no clashes with makeup. I always aim to get your hairs done 1hr before the ceremony to give you time to get dressed, have photos and touch ups before you go down to meet the registrar or leave for the venue. On the wedding morning, I will come out to wherever you are getting ready to help get you all aisle ready. I cover mainly Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and the East Midlands but travel nationwide as well as destination weddings.
I have been a wedding hair specialist for 8 years now and have been to a lot of wedding mornings and so I have lots of expertise which I can use to help guide you through the morning to make sure everything runs smoothly. I will be that extra friend/bridesmaid/pair of hands that's you didn't know you needed for your prep morning! I'm always there for whatever you need, whether that be a quiet friendly voice to help calm those last minute nerves or someone to sing along to those 90s pop classics with you, I'm your gal! I'll even drop in a few dad jokes in those moments that you need a distraction to calm the nerves or keep the tears at bay. You may be laughing at me rather than with me but either way, it works! I'll help do up dresses, tie shoes, attach button holes, blot flower stems, give you a straw so you don't ruin your lippy, fan you if you get a bit warm, even drive some guests to your venue!
You're booking an experienced stylist, an expert and a friend to guide you through the process and the morning, not just a hairstylist!
Now let's talk budget (I know, not the fun bit!) To book with me, every booking is secured with a £70 deposit. I require a minimum service fee of £300. Saturdays between June-August, there is a minimum person booking of bride plus 3. A bride is £270 which includes a trial at my home studio and £300 for Hollywood waves (which also includes a trial) and party members are £65 each. Travel expenses may also apply depending on location.
