EMILY AND RUBEN: Real Elizabeth Kate Bride Wears Enzoani Love Aisha Wedding Dress

Real Bride Wears Enzoani Love Aisha Wedding Dress From Elizabeth Kate Crowle Scunthorpe

How did you two meet?

Reuben and I met at secondary school. We're not entirely sure how we met, we just know that by Year 9/10 we definitely knew each other! It wasn't until we were in Sixth Form that we got together. Our friendship groups kind of merged, and a mutual friend threw a house party... I got too drunk to drive home and he paid an obscene amount for a taxi to get to the party. He asked me out on a date and the rest is history!

What about the proposal, how did that go?

Reuben proposed on the Isle of Skye, specifically at a place called 'Irishman's Point'. It was the first walk we ever did on Skye, and we do it every time we go back. I knew a proposal was coming, but wasn't expecting it then!

What was your wedding style/inspo?

With us having a late September wedding, I very much wanted to lean into all things autumnal goodness! We went to as many open days at Doddington as we could to get inspiration and it was there that we ended up seeing a few set ups which we fell in love with and merged them! We didn't want to over-fill/decorate anything as the venue just spoke for itself!! If I could sum it up in a few words it would be: country, calming, seasonal, rustic, and personal to us.

Tell us about your dress!

Ahh gorgeous Aisha! I got so many compliments on my Enzoani Love Aisha Wedding dress – and still do!! I was very nervous when it came to dress shopping. I had a rough idea of what I wanted (lace, A-line), but because I'm short I was really worried about how a wedding dress might look on me. Kim and Holly were beyond fantastic from start to finish; I can't rate Elizabeth Kate highly enough! They were kind, knowledgeable and sooo unbelievably supportive.

I would never have thought I would go for a strapless dress, but I did! And I regret nothing!!! The criss-cross style on the bust of the dress and her sparkle was everything! She had the perfect amount of swish and train. I had drop sleeves added with a little bit of lace on either side and it just finished everything off perfectly.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

All of it, really. I loved seeing the venue all set up, and everyone enjoying themselves. I loved that I was able to spend loads of time with Reuben too, by having some time to catch up just after the ceremony whilst all the guests exited the hall. Hearing Ruth, our harpist, playing was such a joy. Oh, and the food was amazing!!

Any changes? (things you wish you'd done or wish you hadn't!)

Honestly no, everything felt perfect. If I could, I would do it all over again!!

Any tips for brides to be?

  • Listen to your gut, and make it unique and personal to you as a couple.

  • Lean on other people if you can, too, to try and alleviate some of that stress.

  • Getting organised and pre-planning will take so much stress away!

  • At the end of the day, it's about you as a couple and that's all that should matter (although that's easier said than done!).
