Real bride Eleanor wearing the Eva Lendel Jess wedding dress from Elizabeth Kate Bridal

There’s something incredibly special about a dress you never expected to fall in love with, and for Eleanor, that dress was the breathtaking Eva Lendel Jess wedding dress. From a chance college connection to a romantic, rain-kissed proposal on Cleethorpes Beach, Eleanor and Conor’s love story is the kind that quietly builds and then completely sweeps you away.

Married on 11th October 2025 at the stunning Highfield House in Driffield, their wedding day perfectly balanced modern elegance with soft romance. Every detail of their celebration reflected who they are as a couple, intentional, emotional, and deeply personal.

Eleanor discovered Jess during her appointment at Elizabeth Kate Bridal, having spotted the gown online and falling for its contemporary silhouette and versatility. Despite being completely different from what she thought she wanted, the moment she stepped into the dress, she knew. Elegant yet comfortable, timeless yet fashion-forward, the Eva Lendel Jess gown gave Eleanor the confidence of feeling like the very best bridal version of herself, with the added magic of two looks in one.

This real bride feature is a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the dress that changes everything is the one you least expect.

How did you meet?

Conor and I met when we both went to the same college after being at different secondary schools. He took a class with two of my best friends and I used to wait for them outside their class for it to finish… and one day Conor asked them who I was…

Tell us about your proposal

We got engaged on New Year Eve morning 2023 during a rainy walk down Cleethorpes Beach! I didn’t suspect a thing until he started acting shifty when I asked him which way we should walk and he said “maybe we could just stand here for a bit”. It may not have been the ‘beautiful sunrise’ he’d imagined but it was so perfect… even though I waited 11 years for the ring!

When did you get married?

We got married on the 11th October 2025

What was the budget for your wedding

Where did your wedding take place?

We got married at Highfield House in Driffield

Tell us a little about the vibe or theme of your day

We really struggled to find a venue that fitted what we wanted. We didn’t want a barn wedding and we didn’t want a super fancy regal house, and everything we viewed was either end of the scale, until we visited Highfield. Every room is decorated differently and has beautiful chandeliers and lots of amazing artwork. If I had to sum it up I’d say our theme was modern/romantic

Tell us about the dress! How did you know it was 'the one'?

I booked an appointment at Elizabeth Kate after seeing the Eva Lendel ‘Jess’ online. I absolutely loved it but it was so different to anything I thought I wanted and I thought it would be the classic of online shopping- it looks great on the model but awful on me… but after putting it on I knew straight away it was the one. It made me feel so special yet ‘comfortable’ at the same time, I can’t really describe the feeling, it just felt right. I also loved how I could get two looks in one without it being a complete dress change!

Any special memory from your EK appointment you'd love to share?

I think walking out in the dress for the first time and seeing my mum and bridesmaids shed a tear was super special and solidified my choice

What was your favourite moment on the wedding day?

Conor and I agreed that our favourite moment from the day was on the aisle. The music, having all our loved ones around us, but yet it felt like we were the only two people in the world in that moment (so soppy I know) but we were both so overcome with emotion

What advice would you give to brides planning now?

1) Plan as much as possible as early as possible and buy things along the way to spread the cost and the stress! 2) This is your and your partner’s day, don’t let others tell you what you should or shouldn’t be doing and who should be on your guest list

3) Let your hair down on the day- my dress and shoes got muddy straight after the confetti toss but you need to embrace it and just have fun

Anything else you'd love future EK brides to know?

My favourite piece of advice that Kim and Holly gave me when picking my dress was to feel like the bridal version of myself. I tried on dresses that felt too much like ‘normal me’ and also dresses that felt like I was playing dress up as a bride. But what I went for in the end was perfect!
