In Bonnie's own words....
How did you and your partner meet?
We originally met at a Halloween party when we were about 10, which we only realised years later when we became friends at school. We lost touch and then reconnected in adult life!
Tell us about the proposal!
We've never been much for fancy things and like to keep it simple - it was a random Thursday night at home in the living room. Oliver decorated with candles and rose petals and put some Taylor Swift on. He tried to put a relevant video on the screen in the background but accidentally played the wrong one so throughout the whole thing, he was in the background pulling a funny face on repeat! Very on brand for us, and finished nicely with a glass of wine and a pizza.
When and where did you get married?
We got married in February 2026 at Brackenborough Lakes in Louth
What was your wedding vibe/theme?
Again, we wanted it to be simple, nothing fancy, just an opportunity for us to celebrate our love with our family and friends. We went with white and silver and chose things that would compliment the venue.
What was the wedding budget
Controversial but we didn't really set out with a budget, just a goal to spend as little as possible! We knew what felt right at each point. We knew there were things we didn't want to compromise on, but we also knew there were things that we didn't care about and that's where we managed to save.
What was your favourite moment of the day?
It's hard to choose, but I really enjoyed taking some time out of the day, just Oliver and I. We went for a little walk to have some pictures taken. We got to take a breath and just laugh with each other.
What made you choose Elizabeth Kate Bridal?
I had been to a different bridal shop and felt very awkward. I later saw online that Elizabeth Kate stocked a designer I liked and decided to book an appointment. Kim and Holly are both so calming, I felt completely at ease with them throughout the entire process. They used their knowledge to help where I needed it, without making it feel like they were making the decisions.
Tell us about your dress, what did you fall in love with?
I was very particular on shape going into the dress-search and the Eva Lendel Baccara wedding dress ticked all the boxes!
How did you feel when you found "the one"?
Honestly, still a bit unsure. I am very indecisive and the idea of making that commitment made me doubt myself. But I'm glad I pushed through, it was perfect.
Did you customise your dress or style it in a unique way?
No - just tailoring at Elizabeth Kate. I went without a veil and just kept all my accessories very plain. The dress did the talking!
What's one piece of advice you'd give to brides currently dress shopping?
Enjoy the experience! I wish I'd paused for a minute to take it in.
What would you say to someone considering visiting us?
Do! Kim and Holly made a potentially stressful experience an incredibly relaxing one, and I can't thank them enough for that.
What's one piece of advice you'd give to brides about the planning/day/anything you think!?
It's cliche and has been said a million times before, but it's so true... the little things don't matter. No one is looking at the finer details in the same way that you are so save yourself the stress!
